Thinking about what I want to think about

After thinking about my big question, "Why is United States government so against immigration?" In my opinion, i strongly want to say that the government says it's a free country? Yet we need to have papers to stay here? Why is that? They say we have freedom of speech & that each & one of us have rights but when ICE comes to your door they treat us like dogs. There is so many people across the world trying to provide for their loved ones & trying to do whatever it takes to be there for them but yet, they can't do it because they can't enter without their papers. We should all be welcomed , why does a paper to have tell us where we can be allowed or not?
